Leaving Guantanamo

Eighteen more detainees were released from Guantanamo yesterday, according to the Washington Post. Seventeen were sent to Afghanistan and one was sent to Turkey. "The detainees had been through tribunals at Guantanamo Bay, where it was determined that they are no longer enemy combatants," according to the Post story. No doubt each one left with a wonderful impression of the United States Government and its firm commitment to democracy and human rights.
