Powell vs. Bolton

While President Bush was urging the Senate to "put politics aside" in order to confirm John Bolton, a prominent Republican was expressing his concerns to two key members of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Former Secretary of State Colin Powell had telephone conversations with Senators Lincoln Chafee and Chuck Hagel in which he expressed his concerns about Bolton's temperament.
